What is Project Jambo?
Project Jambo is a social enterprise that believes that we can no longer take social peace and harmony for granted.

Each one of us should consider taking responsibility for pushing back against the increasingly toxic polarisation we see, not only in society, but even at times amongst our closest relationships.

This best way to push back is through dialog. Project Jambo provides activities and exercises that allow you to practice the skills that improve communication with all people but especially those who may have extreme views compared to your own.

While some of these conversations may not be easy, if we decline to engage, we may be adding to the increasing polarisation and intolerance that ensures that our society becomes ever more uncivilised.

What is Project Jambo’s vision?
For people to no longer take social harmony for granted but to instead take responsibility for it by having courageous conversations with those holding different views relative to their own.

What do I need to do to take responsibility?
Don’t walk away from a difficult conversation even if someone has very extreme views compared to yours. By trying to find some common ground you reduce the distance between you both. I think Stephen Fry says it best here:  Stephen Fry quote

But how can I do that?
By learning the skills needed to connect with those who have extreme views compared to your own.

What kind of skills do I need?
Skills that require both intellectual and emotional intelligence.

Where can I learn about those skills?
Project Jambo’s mission is to teach the skills needed to have courageous conversations with those with different views to improve relationships and promote social harmony.

But what if I don’t have any conflicts with anyone regarding their extreme views?
Many of the skills learned in our workshops are useful for connecting with all people in your social and professional networks.
